I have a $1000 budget but can go over a little bit.  With the second build im not sure if the stock fan with teh E8400 will be good enough but i can't afford to add another fan to it.  Please give me some advice of which to pick.

I don't get the difference between overclock build and normal build. The normal build looks like it will overclock a lot better than overclock build. :p

You'll need more than 2gb for gaming. 2 more gb of 800mhz ddr2 is only around $40 those days. E8400 runs cool, so you'll probably be able to do small to moderate oc on it using stock fan, depending on case airflow.

Ya get the normal build.  Then in 6 mos or so buy an aftermarket cooler and overclock it then.  you will be happier with the normal build at stock speeds than you will with your OC build after a HEFTY overclock.

Retail is ripoff. You better look for a good cooler at ebay. I'm looking at something like used Tuniq (retail $60) for $10-ish + shipping auction ending today.

I don't even know what this build is intended for.

$130 is a lot for a case and a solid power supply combined???

That case/psu combo is probably the best you'll find out there.

I'd go for the Allendale build because it allows you to get the 22" monitor over the 17" monitor, and I think that makes it worth it right there.  Plus, when you can scrounge up a bit more dough down the road you could grab an E8400 and drop it in.
