I'm going to be ordering everything for a new build at the end of the month (mainly waiting to see how the gx200's pan out) and I'm trying to decide what board to get. I've already made up my mind that I want to go for a 780/790 nforce board. I'm leaning more towards a 780i, due mainly to the fact that ddr3 isn't making a significant impact, if any. At this point i've come to like what i'm seeing with the XFX 780i, but I kinda want to look at some more options, maybe an asus. Overall, the only thing that i'm not liking about the XFX 780i, and probably the evga equivalent is: 1) Bad north bridge cooling fan and 2) bios problems. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences with any of the specific 780 boards?
I say go for 780i with DDR2 because DDR2 doesnt have a noticeable difference with DDR3 and its cheaper too so i say go for a 780i board with a DDR2 800 RAM with 4-4-4-x or lower timings
