I was thinking of getting the Haans G 28" or Viewsonic 28"
Though, if any of you could talk me into another one, I'd be willing to listen. I figure it's only a hundred bucks more for a monitor that's 4 inches bigger. I had ordered one already, loved the size, but it had 2 dead pixels, and if I'm paying this much, I want perfection. Should I try BB again? Also, I'm willing to check out 24's if they're significantly cheaper.

Whatever monitor you end up getting (they all suck, sorry) make sure you buy from a place that has a return policy you can live with.
I use two "gaming" LCDs a 19" 1280x1024 VX922 2MS (Vivid and brilliant static image, great moving image, horrible palette)
Samsung 226BW 22" WS 1680x1050 2MS (Rich and deep static image, bright and accurate moving image, terrible black levels)
Both are comical compared to my 21" CRT, for gaming.
If you get anything larger than a 22" and you sit no more than 3 feet away make sure you don't get a TN panel. The viewing angles will be terrible. Even at 2 feet away my 22" Samsung 2253BW appears off-white to slightly yellow on the sides.

Yeah $550 for a 24" TN panel monitor is too high a price. That's almost the price of a S-PVA or P-MVA panel monitor.
Well considering that the OP was looking for a 'gaming' monitor, it doesn't make sense to recommend a S-PVA or P-MVA panel monitor. TN panels, although flawed are considered 'gaming' panels.

I wasn't recommending a S_PVA or P-MVA monitor. I was just pointing out the fact that the 24" Asus MK241H is very expensive considering it merely uses a TN panel.

TN panels are 'gaming' panels. The OP wants a 'gaming' panel, so hes gonna have to go with a TN panel. Like the one I mentioned. By the way, that price isn't terrible, take a look at other 24" monitors they are easily priced much higher. And if you find one in the 300-400 dollar range they are most likely garbage.

You're correct, the 226Bw is a very good gaming monitor, however I would like to point out that I just upgraded from the 226bw to the Asus 24" that I have been promoting, and the difference is night and day.
