More Information

Hi,
I am more of an AMD person , but as intel is best atm, when asked to help configure a midrange system I have come up with this..
could you please comment if I am making an eggregious error here ?

CPU: Intel core2 Duo E8400

Memory: Kingston Hyperx 2GB CL5 DDR2-1066 <or would it be better 2 GB DDr2-800 but CL4 ??>

Mainboard: socket 775- Asus p5N-Deluxe <this is too much need cheaper not sure what chipset to choose though..>

Harddisk: Sata seagate .10 of 500 GB
PSU Cooler Master Realpower M 520W ATx12 V version 2.2 , EPS, 6 connectors.

Graphics Card: Asus EN8800GTS/HDTP 512 MB

Pc will be used for internet and gaming, occasionally connected to tv for movie viewing. will not be overclocked.
no integrated sound is needed as soundcard will be used. also no raid is needed as wont be used.
my main queries are:
-my mainboard choice is too expensive,  can you recommend another form this list?

-The memory... is it better like this or is it better to change it for 2 GB of crucial ddr-800 CL4 ?

Thanx in advance.
Ferri

Try the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L or Abit IP35-E. Both will do what you need:

Ram... you won't need 1066MHz unless overclocking, which you said wasn't going to happen. Get the set of 800Mhz. You can even get 800MHz CL5 if it's cheaper. You won't really be able to tell the difference in real world applications.

If you're buying the hard drive from the same store, the 7200.11 version is faster than the 7200.10 and cheaper as well.
