That narrows it down :)

Have you increased the Voltage to the processor?

Are you separating the memory, vid card and processor in bios?

If not then when you up the FSB your memory and vid card are being OC'd as well.

Separate them all (don’t leave on auto), run the Vid card @ 100% and the memory @ spec, then up the FSB and the voltage as needed.

All the nvidia chipsets are crap from the bytching that I have seen. The P35,38,45 and 48 OC the Q6600 to 3G with no voltage increase (usually a voltage decrease) and only setting the RAM to spec and the PCIe to 100Mhz.

If you have the cash, buy a cheap P45 and your troubles go away.

I'm running a Q6600 on a GA-P35-DQ6 at 3.2G (400 x 8) all settings on auto except PCIe @100 and RAM @ 2 in BIOS (1:1) 800.

You can OC the PX5/8 series mobos in your sleep.

Put the Voltage to 1.35 and see if it boots @ 400FSB... If it does try lowering the voltage to 1.3.
*** run realtemp, watch your temps close and shut-er-down if you reach 60-65.

If you do get a good boot run prime95 to see if it is stable.

ok that sounds a good plan :)

because of the 650i sli mobo will i still be able to reach the 3ghz ? or even more or will the mobo not be able to handle it?
