I just purchased a WD VelociRaptor 150 GB 10000 RPM hard drive to run my OS (Vista) and games. I would like install Vista on this new drive w/o formatting my old drive. Is this possible? I want to avoid any prompts during boot (re: which version of OS I'd like to use). Thanks for any help!

Yeah, simply unplug the old drive, plug in the new one, and install away. When you are done, you can plug the old one back it in, and then simply take it out of the boot order in the BIOS.

Or, you can download the free trial version of Acronis True Image, and simply mirror your old drive to the new one. Bingo, fast, easy, no worries at all.
