ok,i know I've posted this in 2 other forums but thats only because i didn't see this one. somebody please help me out here.

when i unhook the cd-drive, it works fine when its on and i hook the drive up, its fine but it doesn't recognize the cd-drive. the power is there the drive opens and shuts but it isn't recognized and when i try to restart the computer, it says no operating system . i unhook the drive and windows shows up perfect, Ive tried downloading LTR-48246S software, that's not even working for Me

Are you using Parallel ATA? Are both connectors used on the PATA cable? Have you checked the jumper configuration of PATA devices? etc.

Unfortunately, your post is totally unclear and lacks some info. So folks are prolly unwilling to guess what you mean.

I know I'm not gonna guess.

Make a clear post, including is this a new build? was the CD-drive ever working? If so, what changed? What are your system specs including make and model?

Having said that, sub mesa is prolly on the right track.
