I booted up my new computer (i built it myself, obviously) and i tried to connect to the internet. It couldnt connect so i tryed diagnosing the problem. The computer told me that it couldnt detect any network cards. What does that mean? I dont think my old computer had any netowrk cards. I am connected to the internet via an optimum online service.

Did you install the drivers for the motherboard (which includes the NIC)?

P.S. You need to unplug the power from the cable modem when you switch devices.

i recommend you to install drivers.. what OS you have on it? i builded mine as well and i have 64-bit vista and actually it installet automatically. i reinstallit anyway later..
anyway.. do you have some CD of drivers from you mobo?
