I have been on TH, MySuperPC, newegg for two weeks. I would like to build my own computer for experience, and to have fun with a new computer.I will use the computer for movies, games, and applications.  I want to spend $915(1115 total) I have already have a Q6600 with GO stepping.  What parts can I buy for best performance/price?

Also, I will not buy a monitor at this time.

*sigh*
Antec Sonata III 500 case w/500W Antec PSU
Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo... if you need features the DS3-R
2GB or 4GB of 800 MHz DDR2 (I've had success with Gskill for cheap builds)
Hard drive space for your needs? 640GB is $110 right now at Newegg
8800GT (on sale last I checked) for ~$190 before $30MIR
Optical

Off the top of my head that looks to be around $600 additional... try working it from there.

Gen's build is a good start, though I would probably step the video card up to a 8800GTS. Your budget is pretty workable, so you don't really need the Sonata III combo unless you really like the look of the case. Look for a case you like and throw in a 550VX in there.

I just suggested that case because it's really quiet and the PSU should run a single 8800GT fine, and will save money for other things.  I would definitely suggest an OC with a Q6600 to get more gaming performance out of it.

Still missing a hard drive if you're not reusing one. The Seagate 7200.11 500GB is a good one:

Ditch the Cooler Master power supply. A Corsair 550VX or 520HX will be plenty for your needs. Grab it cheapest from buy.com.

After checking gigabyte website for P35-DS3L v1.0 and v2.0, I found out that the mobo limits 2 Corsair DDR2 1066.  gigabyte wesite http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileLis [...] 3l_1.0.pdf

Am I reading that correctly, if so I will use Crucial DDR2 800 for my x64 system.

That list is outdated. The 1066 will work fine, but isn't really needed with the Q6600. As long as you don't get unlucky parts, with 800 ram you'll be able to get to 3.6GHz with proper cooling.
