I am having a problem with two memory sticks one is a samsung mighty drive the other make is unknown.
Last week they were both working fine but today my computer does not recognis them as being there. I usually plug them into a belkin usb adapter. They do not work in any of my usb ports on the computer. The belkin seems to be ok as a kingston memory stick does work in the same port. Both sticks are recognised in three other laptops and work desktop has XP Home - Laptops XP Pro - XP home - and ME operating systems. Never had any problems until today. Any ideas?

Go to the device manager, uninstall the USB root hubs, and restart.
start-->control panel-->system-->hardware tab-->device manager-->expand uninversal serial bus controllers
