Hi, I was looking for opions one graphics cards.

Currentsly I am considering on getting two Evga geforce 8800GTS cards or getting one Geforce 9800 GTX.  I can't decide what to get.  Eventually I would get two Geforce 9800 GTX if I did get that card but not right away.  I have the option of two 8800GTS or one 9800 GTX...I'm lost and looking for some guidence!

If you've been following this forum you'd know which to buy.
But for now, my advise is to WAIT!!!
Within few weeks time, the market will be flooded with new AMD/ATI and nVidia cards, the famous 4800s and the 9900s.
Then you'd be spoilt for choice.
Enjoy riding the hype farmerfred!

Hello and welcome to the forums mate :)

What do u have ? 8800GTS 512 or 8800GTS 640?

9800GTX is a good card but the difference of it with 8800GTS 512 isnt worth the money IMO(The difference is little and not noticeble), if u have the 8800GTS 512 i say go for SLI (However, let me ask u a Question, are u really not happy with the performance of 8800GTS 512?)

Read The SLI/CROSSFIRE FAQ too :

I agree with you Maziar, 9800GTX had a slight difference performance with the 8800GTS. Originally 9800GTX is almost same GPU as 8800GTS, but if you concerned with the heat problem generated from 2 cards. I suggest you take 9800GTX. If you play a game wit high resolutions i suggest you go with the SLI, and not to concern about the heat generated from the 2 cards.

In the USA, current prices make the G92 8800GTS 512MB a much better value than the 9800GTX.  Some people from other counties have mentioned the price being similar, which makes the 9800GTX attractive.  As far as the option of 2 8800GTS (g92) or one 9800GTX....you simply can not compare them.  Two 8800GTS offers a ton more raw power and given the right GPU demanding games/settings will crush the 9800GTX.  Your games and resolution may not point toward SLI though, making one 8800GTS a better route to go.  If you want to play Crysis at high details and high res, or medium res with fsaa, SLI is the way to go.  If you are an FSAA junkie, SLI is the way to go.  If you are unaware of what fsaa is, SLI probably isn't for you. :)

Damn... thats is a hell of an argument!!! thanks for the links dagger. Read that reviews make wanna laugh :D, lol. That SpAde guy is really a stonehead And for myself, i never play 1st person shooter at all, it make me wanna puke (no offense here, its the truth though :))

For this time, the 8800gts is still top notch for playing games (for my self of course). And i dont want to be naif, i really want that 9800gtx. But i just got my 8800gts jus about 1 1/2 mont ago, there's NO WAY i'm gonna trade my 8800gts for 9800gtx (even the price here is different about 20$ - 40$ for 8800gts 280$ and 9800gtx 320$).
