AXT Ver. 1 power with q6600

Can I use a 550 Atx Ver.1(P4 Comp) power supply with a computer running a Core 2 Q6600 and HD3450 ?

I woudn't try it without the 4 pin 12v connector; but with it and a 20 to 24 pin converter, it should work fine. The converter is available for $5 at some venders. If your power supply is over 3 years old, I would buy new just to be safe. Too many people have problems with old or cheap power supplies. I would even delay installation until you get a good ps; These are the only brands I buy: antec, enermax, fortron fsp, seasonic, sparkle, corsair, and pc power and cooling. You should spend at least $50 (with rebate) on any decent ps. And it should weigh 4-5 lbs. Lightweight units can fail under load.
