Most P35 boards are great overclockers. Partuclarly popular on here are the Gigabyte and Asus boards
GA-P35-Dxx series
P5K series

I would recommend going for a quad for video editing whether it be HD or SD. The 6600 is relatively cheap and very overclockable (G0 stepping).

How cheap are you looking at with the graphics card?

How about...

GIGABYTE GA-P35-S3G - $74.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128084

HIS Hightech H260PRF256EDDN-R Radeon HD 2600PRO 256MB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161194

I believe this board should be a good overclocker (very similar to DS3L but without surround and second LAN port) and a 2600pro should be able to play most games at _reasonable_ settings so long as the resolution's not too high.

Anyone do any better?

Remember that you'll have to get your timing right, if you intend to buy a quad core part at the end of the year.

S775 will be obsolescent (according to predictions) by then and it seems probable that no new parts will be introduced. I'm guessing that there will still be channel stock, and it may even be that prices on some parts become more attractive, but its hard to call exactly how long that situation will last.
