Hay, Just wondering witch single core CPU would be better for Games with an 8800GS. And what both of them OC like to prevent system bottlenecks. The reason I'm going single core is due to the very low price I can get for them. When OC I will be using the stock HSF as funds are tight.

I reckon the LE-1620 would probably be better as it's a 65nm part versus the 90 of the 3800+ and also has 1mb level 2 cache which is always useful. It should overclock better too as it has a lower heat output and therefore you can probably get away with the stock cooler but considering a cooler is like 10-15 bucks for a decent one like the arctic freezer 64 pro why not get one.

Thanks, The Athlon LE is also manufactured using 90nm SOI. The Sempron LE series is based on the 65nm though. Maybye It would be closer to an Athlon 4000+.

Yes I see what you mean its very confusing. Every ware iv looked its 90nm. Maybe the LE-1640 (2.7GHz) is running 65nm because its the only one with 512kb cache OR vise verser. Very puzzling indeed.
