I'm putting together a gaming system and I've settled on most of my components but one thing I know little about is power supplies. I was hoping some of you could give me some suggestions and point me in the right direction.
Right now I've got:

Q9450
DFI LP LT X48-T2R motherboard
EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD4000AAKS 400GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE
Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD Burner
Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS

Antec, corsair, ocz, those are the only 3 i recomment, your system will run fine on anything above 500 watts with a 80 % efficency raiting. I would suggest you go with the q6600 quad if you overclock, youll be much happier with it.

I would say Corsair 520HX, Seasonic S12/M12 500+, or PC P&C S610. Even an Earthwatts 500 would do for much less.

Those are the PSU resources to live by. Get a Tier 2 and you won't regret it.

I would not get the 4000AAKS, it is not PMR. The 3200AAKS or 6400AAKS would be much faster. Everything else looks good.

Thank you very much for the replies and advice. I'll be going with the seasonic S12 550. I'll swap out the 400gb western with a 320gb drive as well. If I do OC it won't be alot, maybe just up to 3 ghz.

Good places to check reviews. The Corsair PSUs are getting recommended a lot because of high quality (i've never seen a negative review) and reasonable prices. PC Power and Cooling = high quality and usually high prices. OCZ good quality and lower prices. Some of the Antec models (Basiq) don't get good reviews, but the Earthwatt series do.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 for top quality (right now the 650w is the same price as the 550w after rebate)
