My 1TB external hard drive is inaccessible. I cant even access it to run check disk. I was originally just getting errors about corrupt files, but now I cant do anything. I have spin-rite, but it wont recognize my drive connected to the usb when the program boots from DOS. Please help me, all my backup data such as wedding pictures, and all my movies are on here!!

What hard disk exactly? Ok, you practically covered everything I would've suggested. It's also possible that the hard disk controller of your external drive has just failed Maybe you can take the disc out frrom its case, then install it into a hard disk enclosure.

Also try using another USB cable. CRC errors are usually caused by faulty connections between the hard disk and the computer.
