Hi Guys,

I've got a core i7 920 running at 3.7 ghz with 1.35 volts and a Coolermaster V8 cooler on there. Right now the temps of the cpu are around 45-48 c at idle (no idea what at load). Does this seem about right to you guys? It seems a bit high to me considering the V8 is supposed to be a pretty good air cooler. Let me know your thoughts on this. By the way, I've got good airflow in the case so don't think this is an issue.

Seems somewhat normal for 1.35v. Load temps are what really matter, so toss it on prime for a minute or so and make sure you don't go past 85C.

For reference, my lapped TRUE at 4.0 idles at 40-44C with 1.26v, goes to 80-86C(1.31v load) after 10mins of small ffts prime 95. It's safe to run these chips much hotter than older tech, but as I suggested, 85C is the max I would want to hit while running full load for stability testing.

Those temp seem ok, especially for an OC.

To compare, my i7 with stock cooling at 2.66 (stock) idles at those kind of temps. So you are doing well imo ;)

not sure but mine idles around 35C and full load peaks at 79-80C thats @ 3.8ghz, 1.35v. core and using the v8 as well.

you sure the cooler installed correctly? ie. manual shows to install it upside down but you should do the opposite ;)
