I have currently have an good PC but I think it could be a litle better for this game. My gfx is getting of age. It's a 7900GS 256MB. I am consiering upgrading to an eVGA 9800 GTX 512MB. I usually skip every other generation when getting an new card.

Now my CPU is a Intel E6600 duo 2.4Ghz. I was considering upgrading to an Q9300 2.5Ghz quad but I was wondering if it's worth the upgrade over my dual core for a game like this. Alsso is the Cooler master Hyper TX2 a good match for the Q9300. I have an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe board and the capcitors are close to the socket so I kinda have to be picky on what heatsink I install. I'm also considering the Xigmatek HDT-S1283

if its not fast enough right now, an e6600 can probably overclock a bit (i have no personal experience of those in particular....), so you could probably just hold out with only the upgrade to the graphics (which will be a more than decent leap btw, do it!)

I know its sucks to wait for a new card to come out when you're trying to play a new game "The Way It's Meant To Be Played"
Also if you didnt know, and if this might be pushing you for the upgrade. With Conan, though it lets you choose dx10 still uses dx9.
I read somwhere that dx10 will be added in later patch. So you could get an EVGA 9800gtx now and use their step-up program and upgrade to the 9900gtx in July.
Thats what I would do if I was in your situation. Here is the article on the release date for the 9900gtx.

I run Age of Conan with my 8800 GTS(G92) and E6750 with few problems. It gets a little choppy with full graphics quality, and that's mostly because it has to render all the damn grass (seriously).

I get occasional lag, but that's mostly due to living in a backwater country with only poor internet speed available.
