That all looks pretty good. Know that 650i motherboards have shoddy support for 45nm processors, so you might want to look into that board specifically to see how it fares if you think you might want to upgrade the processor down the road.

Also make sure that your PSU is up to the task.

i have checked that one thoroughly and it has full 45nm support with no bios update and my psu is a atrix 650 watt so i dont think i will have to change my psu for a gts
oh by the way is a gt better or a gts better price wise

Go for more memory and the 8800GTS. That should leave you with some quid left.
If you have high temperatures, consider the heatsink.

2GB is enough for now, but you will probably want to move of up to 4GB at some point. DDR2 probably isn't going to get any cheaper than it is right now, so I say go ahead and get the full 4GB.

What OS are you planning on using?

If you aren't interested in RAID then I would recommend the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L. It's been nothing but great for me.

You can edit your posts you know...

The 4K series from ATI/AMD could be coming out next month, and those cards should be pretty fast. Regardless, the 8800GTS 512 should last you a while even if faster cards come out in the next few months.

The 9800s are already out. :) The 9900s will be out in June/July.

No point in getting an sli board if you don't sli right away. I know I know you're gonna say you'll get a 2nd one, but by then a more powerful card for about the same price or less will be out. SLI is only logical if you sli right away.

Look at budget P35's like GA-P35-DS3L, DS3R, IP35-E, P5K-E, etc. Then 2 gigs of ballistix. Plus an 8800GTS512. Those will last you a while. Oh yeah, you can o/c the cpu if you want.
