My question would be why? That system is beyond good (maybe get better vid card) only thing I can think of that you could go better from that would be intel skulltrail or something rediculous like that.

A Prices are Tough.
MySelf, I would rarely pay close to what a PC is "Worth" from Ebay.
Too Many support type of problems.

The Price would have to be significantly less than the sum of the parts.

I would pay a bit more from CraigsList, since I could put the PC through the paces before purchase. And if I suspected Fraud, It would be easier to locate the culprit.

Not much you could improve except the graphics card.
8800 GTS is not really that much of an improvment (not worth the upgrade).
Wait for HD4xxx ATI to see if you want to get rid of that crossfire support.

Q6700 might reach higher ... might not.
Q9450 will not reach higher and might perform a bit better (might be worth it if you just won the lottery).
Motherboard is already the best there is (X38 = X48 anyway) unless you want SLI support but think of the data corruption issues.
Ram with tighter timings ... adds 1% (seriously not worth it).
Everything else is top class.

You'd need insane amounts of money to get improvements.

You'll lose money on that though. People are cynical those days. They'll think there's something wrong with your rig. They would rather blow their money on something like Alienware instead.

It's still used. A rig with that good specs on sale. Everyone will smell a rat. There's just no GOOD reason to sell it.

I don't think there's that many people (running around free) who'd consider buying a used heavily OCed machine on ebay and than go buy something like it from Alienware (most of them are safely locked away).
