Hi everyone,

I'm about to pull the trigger and purchase the components for my new build. I'm new at this and would love to know if these components are compatible and if anyone has any suggestions for me. Here's what I'm thinking:

1) CPU - Q6700 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115027
2) MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059
3) RAM - OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227124
4) HD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3750330AS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148298
5) Video Card - Galaxy GeForce 8800GT Overclocked 600MHZ 512MB 2.0GHZ DDR3 PCI-E DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out OEM Video Card - http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=26783&vpn=88YFF6HUFEXV&manufacture=Galaxy Technology
6) Case - COOLER MASTER RC-690 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137
7) Power Supply - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

Already have monitor and DVD drive.

I really appreaciate any comments on compatability and/or suggestions on alternative components. This rig is for occassional gaming, video editing and encoding and other basic stuff.

Cheers

2x2gb is the way to go but not 1066mhz.
GA-P35-DS3L does not like 1066mhz memory.
Stay with 800 mhz Ram that runs @1.8-1.9volt and you will be fine.
