Hi

I have this P5K-E which will only install XP with SATA options set to IDE-Compatible. Whenever I select ACHI or RAID windows CD wont load or it will BSoD in installation. Also happens with IDE-Enhanced mode.

What do I have to do to install windows XP in AHCI mode? I dont want to slow down my SATA drives in IDE mode.

Sorry for this newbish, Im new to Intel chipsets, NVIDIA chipsets never caused me problems.

From recollection...

IN order to install as a raid, not only do you have to make a windows boot disk, but there is a separate disk you have to create as well.

Check out the manual, but it clearly states the path you need to take to install XP. I had the same problems for alittle bit, but the manual, and some Newegg reviews were able to help me.

Ok so after making the Intel SATA drivers diskette, I can select AHCI in BIOS and then in XP installation press F6 then load those drivers right?
