i ran asus probe today for the first time since i started useing vista 64 and my striker extreme motheboard hit 47c after been on for a few hrs whilst my quad core is running at 38c tops.

1. anyone know what the ideal temp for an sli motherboard is?

2. if 47 is to high is there any way i can cool the motheboard off with out getting any more fans?

Which chipset is it? It's normal for 650i/680i at stock, and 750i/780i/790i overclocked. Way too hot for any Intel x38/x48/p45 chipset, even on high overclocking.

40-50 C is just fine my 780i NB runs at 55-60 C mostly...I had a Nforce 4 board, and no airflow reached the NB during load the NB would hit 76-78 C, and I still havn't seen anything negative from it.
