You'll see I have a "XFX 680i motheboard"

I really like XFX never seem have a problem with it, when it gets old. I sell it and have the next buyer use the 2nd warranty on it.

Anyway last graphic card got sold to a friend. XFX 8800 ultra. (Love that card but friend wanna sli his rig, so like any good friend...)

I was thinking of 3 card in mind: I'm BUYING TWO of the same card for SLI BTW

-756mb EVGA 8800 ULTRA @ 630mhz $515
-XFX 9800GTX BLACK EDITION @ 760mhz w/COD4 $399
-EVGA 9800GTX SSC @770mhz $349

Note: These card all available @ newegg.
$ is not an issue.

I was wondering if I should stick with the 8800 ultra.
Since I have a PCI-e x16 and that I have TWO 24" Monitor (Cannot utilize the pci-2.0 these newer g92 card offer.)
The 2nd monitor I use a ps3 monitor/tv.
1st monitor I use for PC/Gaming

Games I play:
Counter Strike Source
Medieval 2: Total War
World In Conflict
ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION
The Sims 2: ALL EXPANSION
Company of Hereos
Call of Duty 4
"CRYSIS"

Or go with the newer cooler g92 card but I wonder if the 512mb starts to become an issue.
Some says these 9 series card have issue with anti alias.
And NO WILL NOT GET A 9800GX2. I already did, and horrible quad sli issue. Sold the card.

I will not pick up anymore new card after this. Perhaps in 2011 I will built a new system. (ROFL)

If you want to make the best choice you should wait a couple more week's when the 4870 and 4850 come out the 4870 is supposedly alot faster than an 8800ULTRA at a fraction of the cost somewhere around 250-300$.

If you can not wait and just need to have something now get the 9800GTX.

I have the 9800 gtx and am perfectly happy with it, it cools nicely in my case anyway. ultras are far faster tho.

I know Crysis at 1920x1200 with 4x AA uses more than 512mb of vram but to my knowledge that is the only game so far to reach this limit.

Why not two 8800GTXs? The Ultra is just an oc'ed version of that.

Or wait to see how the 4870 does.

I would go with either 2 utras, or 2 gts's. I wouldnt even think of the 9800, what a rip off, anywho, i think you will be happier with those two, the 9800 is the most expensive disappointment out there right now. Or I would wait to see what ati is offering, if you have to have the newest and greatest.

Hmm lending toward the 9800gtx.
Since the ultra seem to not really fit its value.
756mb sure is nice, but crysis seem the only game to use it.

3 top game I always always play.

Medieval  2
Oblvion
and Crysis.

...I like you

Look at the comparison benchmarks.  They both trade blows, but the Ultra tends to fare better in high-rez gaming because of the memory bandwidth and size.  The 9800GTX is still a great card tho...I love mine!

Don't hold your breath, those benchmarks are fake.

Since money is no issue, I would SLI 9800gtx's, even though two G92 Oced/SCed 8800gt's will provide almost equal performance at half the price..

Anyways, snatch the nVidia cards and wait for Ati to release the 4xxx series. Two days later, nVidia will release cards that demolish the 4xxx's, and you can use a step-up program for the new nVidia cards if you want.

It's just good science.
