Help needed, Error in sync20.dll

Archived from groups: comp.sys.palmtops (More info?)

I had an e-book on my handspring Visor platinum ( the count of monte
cristo ) I removed it because it was in text but had html tags.
I found a PDF version on project Guttenberg and down loaded it, I also
upgraded to acro reader 6.01, I can not load either files, I keep
getting " hotsync caused an error in sync20.dll hotsync will close "

I can remove them ( even thou they don't show on the PDA, I can sync
my data bases and calender, but I can't get any books to load into the
PDA. I also updated the hotsync manager to 4.01 but it dosn't help.
