Hi All,
I'm trying to get my ram (4gb (2gb x2 G.Skill 8500)) running at 1066 (rated speed), tried setting everything manually, it fails prime95 blended. Is the memory bad? Also ran memtest it fails instantly at 1066 but runs okay at 800mhz.

 

Rampage Formula
DDR2 8500 4gb G. Skill
Antec 900
Antec 650W Blue
9800 GTX
WD 640
LG DVD-RW LS
Q9450 (currently not overclocked, due to solving ram issues)

Is "Rampage Formula" P35 based? Many p35 boards have problems running 1066mhz ddr2 ram. The p35 chipset, while high performing, is very old, natively supports up to 800mhz ddr2, and not meant to run 1066mhz ddr2 on when first designed. You can try a different model of 1066mhz ram, but other than that, there is really no way around it. 800mhz should be good enough though.

Unless you forgot to bump up to rated voltage or forced timings too tight, it's probably bad ram.

yea, probably going to get it exchanged, see what happens. I have it up at the rated voltages.
