Data recovery for Windows XP

Hello, 1. I had problem with starting Windows XP.
2. Using CD I reformat Windows XP to initial way.
3. Is it possible to recover data that was on my Hard drive before reformat?

If you have formatted your hard drive you have very little chance of recovering data without expensive software. Even then there are no guarantees

I am sorry, but I dont know the names of any of the software pckages. There is a free one called Recuva but I dont know if it is powerful enough to retrieve any of your data. If you search for data recovery you may find something that will help, but I would be wary of the claims they make regarding getting back data.

Moreover, if freeware won't help, you can turn to some professional format recovery programs. One of a not bad one is Wondershare Data Recovery - Format Recovery. The trial version is free to allow you scan the hard disk. After the formatted files are found, you need pay 39 usd to buy the full version. Good luck.
