One more question if you don't mind...
When I was shopping for TV's I noticed that the Mitsubishi units had a
sticker on them that said that you should limit non full screen
viewing to 15% of viewing time.
The Toshiba manual doesn't have any such warning. Should I always
keep things blown up to fill the full screen or is this just a
Mitsubishi thing?

On a set that is based on CRT technology (like yours) it is definitely
well-advised to keep the screen "full" most of the time. You also want
to avoid watching the same channel too much, or using video games that
maintain a constant background.
The problem is burn-in. Any portion of your viewing image that doesn't
change over time will tend to "burn-in" on the phosphors of your display.
The result will be a permanent image on your screen that won't go away.
BTW, the problem with watching the same channel all the time is that most
channels these days keep a "bug" in the corner of the screen to remind
you of what channel and/or network you are watching. This "bug" can also
get burned in to your screen.

==================================
If you properly callibrate your set, burn-in should never be a problem.
Do NOT leave it in the factory "torch" settings!
