Simple tech's pro drive

Have just read the review recommending Simple Tech's ProDrive 1 TB, however on searching some other sites I find that some buyers have opened the drive and found a Western Digital Drive inside. Does SimpleTech manufacture their drives with various suppliers components?

Well, the main suppliers of HDDs are WD, Seagate, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Samsung, and a small few others.

Why wouldn't they use other provider's disks? If not, they'd have to go through the hassle of making their own.

No reason, but then with reference to the positive review on this site what type of drive was actually being reviewed? It doesn't quite make sense to review a product where the parts are not consistent.
