hi dear friends,

i just buy a brand new PC and so far so good but little major issue here. Fan noise!!!! I though Zalman was the best product but dear god it make so much noise. more noise when i use my older PC (7years).
Its crazy, any one know how to reduce the noise? without affecting my CPU heat? I look in BIOS but nothing allows me to reduce the speed..

thanks

that heatsink usually comes with a manual fan controller. if it didnt, go to newegg and lookup the zalman single fan controllers that are a couple bucks. just turn the fan down. if your processor is running at stock speed, turning down the fan to be inaudible should stiill be sufficient cooling.

There are 2 things you can do to fight the noise.
1.In bios go to sytem monitor then smart fan/Q fan and either set it to manual and lower the power to say 50%...though you need to monitor you temps to make sure it doesnt heatup too much.
2.Set the temps higher so that it doesnt go to full power unless it needs it.
I have my at 50/70 wich means that only when it reaches 50 will it go to full power otherwise it will run silent.

Yes i do have in Bios terms that start with ''Q-Fan''. but i cant assign speed to it.

i have installed a windows software from ASUS motherboard cd
''PC Probe 2''

it shows the temperture, speed of all my fans, i allso see ''Threshold'' with a rpm 600 value intot it.

when i reduce it and apply changes nothing happen. the only solutions i found out was to buy a fan speed controller which is a nother 60$...
