Hi all,

I'm new here.

My question is:

I have got GigaByte Motherboard (GA-K8NF-9) support AMD 939 socket CPU.

CPU : AMD
Identifier: x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 0
ProcessorNameString: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+

I'm thinking of getting : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Socket 939 Dual Core CPU from ebay

-(http://cgi.ebay.com.au/S939-AMD-Athlon-64-X2-4200-Socket-939-Dual-Core-CPU_W0QQitemZ270246493026QQihZ017QQcategoryZ80139QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Will this CPU work on my MOtherboard?

Thanks

It should yes, see the CPU support list (4th from top) here.

I don't know the prices in Australia in general, but for the same price (or lower) you can probably get a new AM2 CPU and AM2 MB. Ex:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADO4800DOBOX - Retail
GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 740G ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
I'm not sure about the MBs, I don't know which ones are good anymore, but I'm sure someone on this forum can give you good advices.
