Hi all,

I'm new here.

My question is:

I have got GigaByte Motherboard (GA-K8NF-9) support AMD 939 socket CPU.

CPU : AMD
Identifier: x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 0
ProcessorNameString: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+

I'm thinking of getting : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Socket 939 Dual Core CPU from ebay

It should yes, see the CPU support list (4th from top) here.

I don't know the prices in Australia in general, but for the same price (or lower) you can probably get a new AM2 CPU and AM2 MB. Ex:

I'm not sure about the MBs, I don't know which ones are good anymore, but I'm sure someone on this forum can give you good advices.
