Comments on the setup, and what i can cut down on? I like the case because of its 4 120 mm side fans for my crossfire setup, also will 850w be enough?

You should go with the new eVGA 790i its better than any X48 out there. By the way you can get the same case and power supply at zipzoomfly for $344.99 plus a $35 Rebate. As faras tha raptors go, wait untill the middle of May and buy the new300GB VelociRaptor, theuy are 35% faster. I own two liquid cooled rigs, one in a 830 Stacker and one in  Lian Li P80 Both rigs have QX9650s . I'll PM you

I personally wouldn't buy a sound card, but thats just my preference. They seem to be a waste of money.

Go back to x38/48 board, it overclocks far higher, with q9450's low 8x multiplier.

See 9800gtx performance benchmark:
http://en.expreview.com/2008/04/03 [...] review/12/

Get any relative cheap graphics card right now (8800gt or g92 8800gts), and wait for 4870.

Don't get ddr3. It provides little performance increase for high cost. 4gb of ddr2 800mhz overclockable to 1066mhz are around $70 right now.

Lose 10000rpm 150gb 16mb cache hdds for $170 each and get 7200rpm 1TB 32mb cache hdds for $230 each. With twice the cache, they are almost as fast and far bigger. Hdd speed don't affect in game fps anyway, only load time.

Lose soundcard, you won't hear a difference from onboard. Get better speakers with the money. You will hear a difference from different speakers.

A high quality 850 watt psu will be enough, even with quad crossfire/sli.

about the ddr3 dagger, as you can see from the two rigs ive shown the top with the mushkin ddr2 1066 5-5-4-12 and the bottom with the OCZ ddr3 1333 6-6-6-18 they are around the same price. From what i can see that ddr3 ram would perform better than the ddr2 in this case. The timings are pretty close. Not positive though.

Be careful with the 790i boards. They seems to have issues:

Also be careful with DDR2 1066 RAM. They also seems to have compatibility issues.

Yea ditch the sli config, Crossfire is more flexible. The 4870 will be better than the 9800

Exile- Kreia what are you Jedi or Sith?

Kreia- Does it matter? Of course it does; such titles allow us to rip the galaxy into two halves: light and dark, good and bad. Perhaps I am neither, and I hold both as what they really are: pieces to a puzzle.

Of course, if you go into a store and offer to pay a million for a loaf of bread, they'll be happy to let you. Don't pay for that overpriced ddr2 1066mhz. Consider this for 4gb. Timing is slightly looser, but this is at 2.1v instead of 2.2v, which means you have more room to tighten it.

Also, you may run into problems with 4 sticks of ram higher than 800mhz. Keep it at 2 sticks for now.

I prefer to go for 4GB(2x2mushkin redline and tighten timing
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146755

Also I'll go for X48 chipset mobo and crossfire
Untill now SLI is not stable and not supported by all games and suffering
from many issues
It is very well known that AtI are successfull in CrossFire more than Nvidia with SLI
HDD go for (750GB) WD Caviar RE2 - WD7500AYYS
