Hi,

I'm not too knowledgeable on video cards.

Would like some advice on whether one HD/SVIDEO out on a video card means that I'll have to get a separate adapter if I want to hook it up to my non-HD TV.

I'm thinking of buying this: EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT, which has one HD/SVIDEO TV out.

Or should it just work on non-HD TV and HD tv without extra hardware?

Thanks!!

svideo out is a non-HD tv output. many old tv's (non-hd) support svideo. that card comes with an svideo cable, and should work on any tv with a svideo input.
if your tv does not have a svideo input, you may need to buy a svideo to composite (yellow RCA) adapter.

it also comes with a special adpater for component HD output. all HDTV's support component input.

Thanks for that quick reply!

Do you think that is a good card for watching TV through a PVR? Can you recommend some others that might do a better job for the same general price point ($80-$100)?
