Hi all,

I'm rebuilding my system adding a new mobo, cpu, graphics card and memory. Any opinions or help would be great. I'm trying to keep this reasonably priced. Thanks in advance.

Thinking of buying

GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P intel p35 chipset ATX form factor 2xPCI-E(x16)/3xPCI-E(x1)/2xpci/4xddr2 w/sata2 raid,lan(gb),1394,usb 2.0 & audio (cpu type:intel - socket 775)
CORE 2 DUO E6850 3.0G (1333Mhz)
STANDARD MEMORY OPTIONS
CRUCIAL 4GB KIT BL2KIT25664AA804

Sound blaster update from my old sound blaster 2 not sure which one yet

Already bought or have

EVGA 512-P3-N802-AR GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail (new)
400 power supply (last rig)
7200 rpm western digital 160gb (last rig)

Also I want to get rid of my old white cd drive and dvd writer (white) with my black case uck!!!

Thanks for the advice,

Conjude

Unless you need the firewire ports, I would get the GA-EP35-DS3R for cheaper. If you don't need RAID and all the USB ports, you could go even cheaper and get the GA-P35-DS3L. Use the money saved and get an E8400 instead for $15 more which will use less power (cheaper electricity bills never hurt) and run cooler (will make it easier to overclock if you're interested in that).

Don't get a new sound card yet. See how the onboard stuff sounds before you drop extra money since it's gotten a lot better than it used to be.

All the DVD±RW's around $30 are about the same and should work fine, although I've heard that the Lite-On's can get a little loud when spinning. I like Samsungs myself.
