Hi all. Not quite sure if this is the correct section (i.e. if it's a mobo problem or a cpu problem) but here goes:

I just purchased and installed an intel core 2 e8400 wolfdale (rated at 3.0 GHz) into an intel DG33FB motherboard. It booted just fine the first time, but when I look at the bios, the field named "Processor Speed" gives 2.00GHz.

I read the bit about speedstep in the stickied thread, but does that apply before drivers have been installed? I haven't even installed linux yet.

Which BIOS are you running? This board needs BIOS 0345 in order to run the E8400.
