I wish to thank everyone on the forum for helping me build my friends system. the was a little problem with it and it had to be sent back but ncix replace the mobo and the thing works great now. The new problem is that no matter what I do BF2 just does not work. I have tried disabling sli, tried nhancer bf2 profiles, tried only one video card, but bf2 still crashes the computer and restarts it after 10 minutes. windows is fully updated and everother game works great, eg crysis, COD4, all of the new great ones. anyone have any ideas? is he just scr*wed.

Sounds stupid, but its good to start at the beginning. You've tried reinstalling the game, right?

sounds like a frustrating situation.. if BF2 were a new game I'd be freaking out if that were happening to me, but luckily it's now old and overplayed, at least for me.

Is the disc corrupt? can u try another disc?

bizarre......

Is there still another machine in the house that you can install the game on? To rule out the damaged disc theory? Other than that, I can't figure out what else could cause that.. very strange.

It works on his old computer. I have also tried a no cd crack just incase the disc was damaged. Also downloaded a copy of the discs off the internet, but still has same problems.

Try running BF2 in it's own window rather than fullscreen. (example - a 1280x1024 game window on a 1600x1200 monitor)
Does it still crash the PC when you do that?

There maybe a graphics option to select the game resolution 1280x1024 or 1024x768 for example and than an option box to change from full screen to windowed mode.
