Hard Drive LED always on?

Hey everyone..I just installed a new hard drive but I have never noticed the always on LED light..the case is right near my face so if I noticed it being on this time then if it was always on before i would of noticed it back then..anyways when I first boot up or go into bios its fine..doesnt always stay on but as soon as it shows the vista boot up screen its a always on hard drive led and never blinks nothing..any idea to what this could be? thanks I appreciate it!

Hmmmm, can you determine if something's always reading your drive? The light does not flicker at all? If that's the case, that's probably Windows indexing your new drive.

If it doesn't flicker at all, you've probably got a grounding error. Try disconnecting all cables from your drive then reconnecting them.

If this doesn't change anything—and you're sure everything's set up properly—it could be a faulty hard disk.
