I just put together my new computer last night, and fired it up. During the first 4 reboots, an NVIDIA Management Control window popped up stating "Your 8800 GTS has changed/lowered it's settings to run properly, due to insufficient power." I went and reinstalled the latest drivers, then shut down and reconnected the power cord (direct feed from PSU.) It has been fine ever since. I also noticed that it stopped after I updated to Windows SP3.
My questions are: is this common when first installing the graphics card? Should I be concerned that the card is not running at full capacity right now? I definitely should have plenty of power for this.
There doesn't seem to be a way to pull up this NVIDIA Management control, seems to be built into the motherboard? Would RivaTuner be a good program to gauge if card is working correctly? I'm worried since I'm going to be running SLI in the next few days.
My System: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz (stock)
EVGA nForce 750i SLI FTW Motherboard
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB (soon to be SLI)
Western Digital Raptor-X 10,000 RPM 150GB HD
4 GB DDR2 800 Corsair XMS2 RAM
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W PSU
Windows XP SP3

That seems very odd, as those 750W seem like more than enough for that system. I'd say to make sure you have the PCI-E power connected to the card. Also, it could be the power outlet isn't giving you enough juice but i doubt it. Great system BTW, not sure why you went with a e6600 though.

Yea, the E6600 is my next upgrade =P I just couldn't foot the bill for a new processor, pulled it out of old system.
I don't think I have PCI-E power connected to the card?...I just have the card plugged into PCI-E 2.0 slot and the 6 pin connector from PSU plugged into card.
I didn't see any other power connector, nor did the manual mention it.

That's what I thought. I was confused, I thought DarthPiggie was saying that there is a separate spot on the board to connect power for the PCI-E slot also.

No there isn't. If you're talking about the molex slot present on some motherboards, it's not for gpu in particular. The PCIE power slot refers to the one on graphics card itself.
