So I decided to upgrade my graphics card from a GeForce 8800GT to...well I am not sure.

I am not too smart when it comes to computers so I am stuck between two choices. Either a Geforce 9600 http://www.tecomputers.ca/product_ [...] mb-pcie-20

Or a GeForce 8800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150261

Now I am looking for a high end graphics card that'll be able to run pretty much any game on the market.

Also how can I figure out if i can even USE either one of those on my mother board...? I am such a newbie when it comes to computers! XD

Thanks for all the help!!!

Both of them will work on any motherboard with pciex16 slot. G92 8800gts significantly outperform 9600gt.

Are you currently using a 256MB version of the 8800GT? If not, your wasting your money trying to upgrade. The performance difference between an 8800GT and 8800GTS is so small that you would just be flushing $240 down the toilet. Hold off and see what the new 9900 and 4870 do.

The 9600 really isn't an upgrade in your case at all even if you have the 256 mag 8800gt, and if you have the 512 it would actually be a downgrade because it is slower !

Yeah I'm a bit confused. You want to upgrade FROM an 8800GT? was that a type-o or do you have the 256MB version?
