How do you decide on case for hdt s1283?

im doing a new build cpu q6600 ( i want to o/c it) gigabyte ga ep45 ud3p mobo, kingston hyperx 4gig 1066mhz , radeon hd 4870 and i want to get the hdt s1283 hsf but i hear it is huge. i mean HUGE! so what would be the best way to figure out on a case size so it will fit in it?
or should i go with the hdt s963? that way i wouldnt have to worry alot about a case and it is rated cfm as the 120mm hdt.

make sure the case is at least 8" wide, to give you a bit of headroom.

The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 fits into my Thermaltake Armor Full Size case. The VA8003BW model. However, if you get the version with the 25CM side fan, you'll have to remove the fan.
