if we put 4gb RAM in the system,in win xp how much it shows in the system management& why?

The max your system will be able to use, is ~3.25GB (assuming you use 32bit XP).

You need a 64 bit operating system to take advantage of 4Gb+ memory
I run Vista 64bit with 8Gb RAM :-)
