More Information

My current system setup is as follows:

- Processor: Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 3.2 GHz using a Zalman 9700
- Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
- Video: Sapphire Radeon x1950 Pro 256MB @ 600/1566 also with a Zalman cooler
- RAM: 2 GB (2 X 1 GB) Kingston DDR2 667 @ 800 MHz
- HD: WD 250 GB 7200 RPM
- Power: Enermax 500AWT 2 X 12V Rails @ 22A
- Monitor: 17" Viewsonic LCD

I plan on waiting for the Radeon 48xx and GeForce 99xx video cards to come out, but at that time should I build a new box from the ground up or just buy a new graphics card?

I'll most likely be getting a new monitor as well, because gaming on a 17" with a Radeon 4870 would be a little ridiculous.

You don't need a new box with what you have.

Just get the new card.
