head on over to fudzilla, they reckon it'll preview at computex which starts on the 3rd of june i think, launching with actual availability in the last week of june. Should be in the u.k. about then, Im looking to just go get a gddr5 version as soon as i can. Will be quite a jump from my 7900gt. My performance prediction, roughly equal to 9800gtx (for top single gpu model), price about 300 quid, with some shockingly low minimum power consumption numbers, and eye watering load power consumption, well maybe not that high. 4870x2 should be equal to 9800gx2. Looking at 45nm die shrink when refresh time comes around. Cheers
I think it should be quicker than the 9800gtx....i think the minimum speed will be about equal to the 3870x2...iam hoping for more like 9800gx2 performance, if not a tad more. The 4870x2 will be very quick.
I agree spuddy. But I have my hopes up as I prefer ATI drivers since they are more stable. Plus if it comes out at $299 for a 4870 then in a few months it should drop to $250 hopefully and I will get one as a gift to my PC for being so good.
I saw a few "supposive" benchmarks on it and it showed a single HD4870 getting 21k on 3DMark 06 and about 52FPS on Crysis @ 1600x1200 Very High. Imagine that. A GPU that could tame Crysis.....
