Hello.

I have had software troubles while changing my Software/Operating System around. I found out that you can put a HDD into Raid1 from the Raid Bios. What I read is that after doing so, I can add a second HDD and it will build a copy of the Operating system and the Software onto the 2nd HDD. In other words, I read that by putting a HDD into Raid 1, it will automatically back up my Software onto a 2nd HDD even though, they were not previously set up into Raid 1 array. If this is true, do you have to add the 2nd blank formatted HDD before putting the original into Raid1?

Thanks in advance.

When building the RAID array, the controller will format the second hard disk, then take a while mirroring your first hard drive. Before you get started though, may I suggest you back up everything? Just to be safe of course.
