Hi, i'm trying to figure out why the Antec Twelve hundred is $70 more than it's predecessor the Nine hundred. Right now i'm leaning on getting the Ninehundred, because it seems to have virtually all the features of newer Twelve hundred, except without a couple fans and gadgets like rear case fan knob.

The prices I found locally:

Antec Nine hundred $100 CDN
Antec Twelve hundred $170 CDN

Nine Hundred:

Twelve Hundred:

Has anyone owned/used both?

Thanks

I bought a 1200 to replace my 900 and sent it back because my temps were almost exactly the same, so save some money and go for the 900, thats my opinion.

That's my opinion too. I just read the other threads and can't justify the $70 difference.

The 900 seems to be the case with the best cooling for $100 right now, everything else that's comparable or better by coolermaster, lian-li, or silverstone is way more expensive, atleast locally.

thanks Raven

The 1200 is bigger. You get 12 drive bays instead of 9. That's why the names 1200 and 900, btw. Mind you, with motherboards limited at 8 SATA ports I'm not sure who would need all those bays. It might help also if future video cards are even bigger than the 9800GX2.

If you just have a normal machine, go for the 900.

If you want to have an internal water cooling setup go for the 1200... More space to maneuver, the inside is already painted and you have holes for cabling.

Actually the HDD cages are longer by an inch or so, so there is not much of a difference between the 2 when it comes to fitting GPUs in them.

I didn't know that. OK, then the 1200 is kind of pointless.

Yep CM690 is a great case, if I could do it over again I would buy that case instead of the Antec 900.

I ditched my antec 900 cuz it was to cramped to work in. (whatever the reason i seem to be opening my case up ever 3 months or so) between the 2 i'd go for the 1200 cuz full towers are a dream to work in and very easy to run cables.

Well, I just read about the CM690 and I think I will be getting that now over the 900.

$80 and has mounts for 7x120mm fans, tool-less installation, and supposedly better cable management and space than the 900.

Here's a deal, for $73:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index [...] omoId=1020

The promoId expires today - tomorrow you'll pay $4.37 more at that link.

I don't know how much shipping is. Keep in mind you only pay 5% GST, no PST, if you live in Ontario. That saves you another $6 or so.

noobs! if you new anything about cases you would not have even asked such a dumb question. you who told him to stick toa ninehundred are even worse. do a little reading take more then 5 minutes when you do get a twelve hundred before returning it. almost every single problem the nine hundred has is fixed in this case.

Well besides the price, the twelve hundred has three fans and fixes to the case design. If no budget, go for the twelve hundred should be great plus more room.
