THE SOUND WILL PLAY WITH NO PROBLEM WHEN I PLAY FROM A SD CARD OR FILE BUT IT SO

Hello,
WHEN I PLAY A DVD ON MY CONPUTER, IT THE SOUND SKIPS AND WHEN I PLAY A MOVIE FROM A FILE, IT'S FINE. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Make sure DMA is turned on for the DVD drive.

Start>settings>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers>Primary IDE Channel, (and Secondary IDE Channel)>Properties>Advanced>Transfer Mode>"DMA if Available"

i did clean the drive. and i was thinking i might be missing a codec

i appreciate you taking the time to review my question and answering it. i did check the settings and it is set correctly. thank you very much, anyway.

If you are missing a codec you won't see any part of the DVD.

Another place to look for problems is the BIOS. The IDE ? port might be configured wrong.
