I HAVE MICROSOFT VALID XP PRO CD WITH LEGIT. PRODUCT KEY. WHEN I GO TO
WINDOWS UPDATES I GET AN INVALID PRODUCT KEY MESSAGE. I HAVE USED THE WALK
AROUND BY GOING TO TOOLS, MANAGE ADD-ONS AND DISABLING THE WGA. IT WORKS, BUT
AS A PERSON WHO LIKES TO DO THINGS CORRECTLY , IS MICROSOFT COMING OUT WITH A
FIX FOR THIS FRUSTRATING ISSUE..

Visit http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and download the free
Belarc Advisor. After running the program, look under the section
titled "Software Licenses". Compare the Product Key found in your PC
with the one you have on hand.

I have done that. Thanks. I called MS . Guess what , my product ID is valid.
I ran through every trouble shooting step that some tech , some where ,in
some call-center in a different country had me try. Still , the only way I am
able to get the updates if I disable the WGA in the add-ons. I deleted the
active X, rebooted system, I re-registered dll files. Still same thing. I
have spent alot of time on this and it's getting very frustrating...
