Instead of the 8800 GT I would go for the HD 3870 or 9600GT. Slightly less expensive for roughly the same performance. I would particularly go for the 3870 since it supports DX 10.1.

I have been quoted £452 for a Q6600CPU, Asus T3 motherboard and case combined, 3gb DDR2 ram, 250gb HDD, and 8600GT super 1gb graphics card.

What do you think.

the T3 probably comes with a crap PSU that will need to be upgrades to work with a decent graphics card, so dont forget to add that into the price if you don't already have a good PSU that is compatible with the new hardware
