Age of Conan HELP I BEG U

ok starting with basics:
AMD 4600+ x2 64
2GB ram 667Mhz
8800GTS 512
22" screen (1650*1050)(i dont know if that matter to the game)

I know its difficult to say about an MMO cause u cant compare same things if u cant find them. the point is though i have 15-25FPS with all at MAX POSSIBLE and 25-45 with LOW POSSIBLE. ofc i mean in areas with no at least many ppl around me or something...
I run 3d Mark 06 yesterday to get 8892 score... which i think its terrible isnt it? Guys any idea why it run so bad? IMO in LOWEST POSSIBLE should be like 80FPS at least.... i mean it was like playing SNES lol...

History of my PC (if helps)
i had a broken PSU which they (in the store) changed it to a 520WATT and i had a 7900GTX which broke for that reason i think. Now i have 780WaTT PSU. Is there any chance something malfunction? Plz respond if u are totally sure. As far as i know MB's Rams can be working/broken, there can be no semi situations for them.

My tempratures are ok (before i had riva tuner i had 77-80Celcium GP) while in crazy games but now i spin my fan way faster and it is 50 which is cool.

Crysis seems playing ok.... but 3d mark troubles me...

*highest settings are: 16x AF 16Qx AA 1650*1050
Lowest settings are: 1024*768 and all disabled/low

I remember in another MMORPGs the stutering or frame drops where more related to the web connection/server than to the PC itself. Or the loading of objects on that relative area.

Ironforge Pit of Doom is well known. Even with 2gb ram and a nice performance in the rest of the game.

Im am in closed beta. I run about 30 fps @ 1680x1050 with everything maxxed out with the PC in my my "Member Configuration" under my user name to the left. (NOT the AMD setup, lol) Its gets better once you get to a more polished client. Hopefully release is solid, unlike Anarchy Online....

yes all these sounds ok but not even 9k score in 3d mark? i think something is wrong with my pc...
May 15, 2008 10:06:13 PM

Ignore 3DMark06 it's just punishing you for having the 4600+ thats all. You'll only be getting around or below the 1000 mark on CPU while alot of intel geezers will be getting 3/4k.
May 15, 2008 10:07:04 PM

Nothing is wrong with it, the not even 900 comes from your cpu and the resolution you run. With and X2 5400+ and 8800gts 512 I score in the mid 9600's.

Open beta is known for causing FPS issues. Read up a little bit, people are complaining of low FPS left and right. The release date client will be alot better. I hear they were also running a debugger which made alot of people lag horribly. So just try it on release day, it should be a ton better. Closed beta testers had no lag issues because it was the final client so it should be better on release

to leland: Read what i post before u open ur mouth cause apparently u use it only to eat.
To the rest: The bad thing as well apart from the 3d mark rating... is that other ppl getting 13k scores with my card and alike cpu's intel or amd... and while i play the game i hear ppl having 80FPS with medium settings while i have 40-50 MAX at lowest possible ones...
Do u really think its only a mater of processor?
May 15, 2008 10:40:22 PM

Soz fella, but if we can bench an 2.4Ghz E6600 to be the same as the AMD's 3Ghz 6000+ then your 600Mhz below AMD's... it is slow indeed nowadays.

It will increase your 3Dmark score and probs your FPS if you went for a new cpu & mobo combo. But, that choice is purely up to you.

Ok ill put it in my experience... I had a 6000+ clocked to 3.5Ghz with my current gfx cards oc'ed to the max and got almost 14k. I turned tail and went Intel and now get 18k on only a mild clocked CPU. GPU's are at stock!!!

P.S the guy's getting 13k are probs on a quad...
May 15, 2008 11:00:06 PM

13333 with vista and a quad, only thing i have oc'ed is the cpu, deal is right there, although the current top dogs are running the newest quads, and getting around 30 thousand and some change, but im sure those are suicide runs, just to impress. Dont pay alot of attention to 3dmark, its just there for reference, and to satisfy people that they have made a wise choice, real life gaming experiences have proven that 3dmark isnt the say all when it comes to actual game play.
May 16, 2008 2:29:43 AM

could be real but its really disapointing seeing other ppl with same configuration having +3-4k 3dmark score.. and +20Fps in game... maybe i overreact a bit but i think i m kinda doomed...
May 16, 2008 6:41:28 AM

sorry dude, need a better processor, go for phenom or, tri-cores, or just go 6000+ at 3+Ghz
May 16, 2008 6:51:43 AM

nah, he needs a 6400 i believe it is, anywho, have a buddy that is also a webmaster and he got the phenom, and was seriously pissed at the performace diffrence from the 6400, he actually pulled it and went back to his dual core, and is much happier for it, that chip has alot of issues, and amd should have never released it, crippled as it is with the third core. Phenom makes a great server chip as he says, but is crap for any real tasks or games you wish to run.

900 for his cpu can't be. I reach with my be2400 amd and a 2900xt 10532. My cpu runs @2.8. Gpu is not oc. Just my cpu score is 2352.

@drjim
stupid question, have u installed the dual core driver and dual core optimizer?
May 20, 2008 9:25:07 PM

"to leland: Read what i post before u open ur mouth cause apparently u use it only to eat. "

Everyone on this board is way too patient with this retard. He is asking for help but refuses to write using complete English words. He insults people for attempting to help him.

Troll perhaps? :sarcastic:

Jump on the intel oc wagon if you want large 3dmark scores.

I sold a e7200 3.8 with a 8800gt and my customer gets 75 FPS medium all settings max.
May 22, 2008 7:57:50 PM

Well JP1981... In my device manager everything its ok. NO "?" marks anywhere... I ve installed drivers indeed. Is there a chance i didnt and in device manager isnt displayed by "?". Btw in Task Manager i see performance of 2 CPU's (So i think dual core is enabled isnt it?)

Is my motherboard good to just buy a new CPU? or should i change that as well. ASUS M2N-SLI Series with NForce 570
May 22, 2008 8:01:47 PM

DrJim,

You could get a p35 mobo and a e2180 for under $200 and if you OC to 3.0 you will increase your score lots. Just thoght I'd throw it out. Later you could even add a faster dual or a quad. You ram should work if its DDR2 240 pin.

nothing wrong with your mobo. If u want to upgrade, get a faster amd dual core. Won't be worth it to go intel now, cause then u have to upgrade your board to. Except u want to go intel quad.
What heatsink for the cpu are you using? Standard one?

go to amd.com and download the newest drivers for u cpu and the dual core optimizer.

Are you using vista or xp?
May 23, 2008 9:04:54 AM

1. standard heatsink (~40 temp)
2. why if i go intel i have to change my mobo
xp home (non 64bit)

That's good advice. I noticed how poorly my setup did in 3DMark06. It's 0-1 fps in the CPU tests and only 9541 or so overall. All those 3870x2's on review sites did much better with Q6600 CPU's!

Age of Conan will probably not be optimized until the game arrives. Betas are touchy at best and disastrous at worse. Lowering graphics settings might help too, or choosing a lower resolution.

May 23, 2008 1:46:41 PM

3DMark06 some degree depends on CPU performance and only at 9.0c while 3D Game sometimes is not. Besides that I guess AMD 4600+ with 8800GTS got 3DMark around 9,000 is not bad.

Anyway if you are delighted by your system on Crysis, it should be ok. Wait for optimization driver for a while after Age of Conan is released.

I'm tempted by Age of Conan. Since my wife and I both went lifetime for LOTR Online, I can afford a monthly subscription to AoC, but I wouldn't have the time.

It's great that MMORPG's are arriving based on great literary properties like Tolkien's and Howard's. Both have their charms and I still reread and enjoy the movies (yes, even Arnold's Conan).

What we need next is an MMORPG set in Lankhmer. The Fafhrd and Grey Mouser stories were a big part of my junior high reading when they were reissued back in the early 70's.

Like Age of Conan, it would be rated M, with Frazetta style art, so I'd have to play it when my kid's alseep, whereas I can play LOTR Online when he's awake. Makes me wish I had time for both MMORPG's.
