Out of those choices, the x1950 GT, by far.

godless is right about the hd3850.

It would help if we knew a little more.

What is the rest of the system you're going to be putting this video card in? What are you going to be using the system for?

X1950GT is the best among what you listed. There are other factors that would affect what we would suggest to you to buy:

- computer setup (processor, memory, etc)
- intended use (games, resolutions, programs)
- price (for each card)
but mosy importantly:
- power supply specifications (brand, model, 12V rail rating, etc)
Edit: - location (country)

computer setup: p4 3GHZ 1024 ram x800GTO

intended use: games 1024x768 resolution low medium quialty

location: israel

I just want to wait some months before I Buy a new computer

I can to buy the x1950GT for 380 Shekels in $ its 100$
1$ = 3.6 shekels

We really need to know about your power supply, a lot of these older P4 AGP machines have a low rated power supply.
As far as the cards go the 7600GT would be slightly faster than your currant card (provided its a GDDR3 version) but would be capable of better effects HDDR for one. Basically a prettier picture. and it would run on your system as the 7600GT uses less power than your card.
The 1950GT is a better/faster alternative but i wouldnt like to say if it would run without knowing your power supply.
Im not familiar with the 6800 Ultra so couldnt comment

Right folks, currently one of my boxes has the following

4600 X2 (90nm) (skt 939)
3GB RAM (2x 1GB sticks)
2 cd/dvd drives
3 hard drives

it had a 6800 GT (which packed in the other day)

I *think* it has a 300W PSU - but I need to check that - it could be more (it is at least 300W)

Now the question is... could that PSU support a 3850? Or would I be safer going with a 2600 or 3650?

i'm pretty sure that 3650 uses the least power, since it's the newest card, but i can't be certain if 300 watts is enough.

can you check the make and model of the psu so we can check how many amps you get in rails?

lotco, you should be good on the 500W PSU with the X1950 (which is by far the best choice of the ones you listed).

Amiga, please stop the thread-jack. Start a new thread if you need related assistance.

Hmm Im not so sure KyleSTL,
Generic PSU's can be fickle things i just took a quick look on ebuyer and the generic 500Watt PSU's rate from 17Amps to 22Amps. I personally wouldnt want to put a 1950 card of any discription on either power supply.
I think lotco really needs to take the side of the case off and tell us what the numbers say before we can say for sure if a 1950 GT will run on his PSU or not.

Agreed, we should be safe rather than sorry for our recommendations.
